This position is located on Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, assigned to USFK. Yongsan is the headquarters for U.S. Forces Korea, 8th U.S. Army, and Installation Management Command-Korea. However, the position is scheduled to be relocated to USAG Humphreys, Korea within the tour of duty as a result of the Yongsan Relocation Plan. Relocation costs will be paid in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations for employees directed to relocate to the Pyeongtaek area.

You will serve as a Security Specialist (Communication).

  • Serve as the Chief of Allied Communication Management Office (ACMO) and Joint Communication Management Office (JCMO) in the J-6, USFK, directly Supervises ten military personnel and five civilian contractors working under broad delegated authority by independently planning, scheduling, coordinating and administering Communication Security (COMSEC) throughout South Korea.
  • Manage three US Army COMSEC accounts, supporting the ROK Army, Air Force and Navy to ensure COMSEC products are properly receipted, accounted for in the Local COMSEC Management Software (LCMS) workstation database, and safeguarded in accordance with National and Department of Defense policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for COMSEC user training for all military, Department of Defense civilian personnel and contractors assigned to the USFK J-6 COMSEC Division.
  • Conduct semiannual COMSEC inspections, training, and inventories on 40 local elements.
  • Provide guidance for COMSEC integration supporting new requirements, programs, projects, and configuration requirements for all GCCS-J, CENTRIXS-K, and TSVS-K circuits in support of operational and exercise circuits.

  • If an employee brings a family member to an overseas location who requires medical or dental care, then the employee will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to successful applicants for positions at overseas locations. For this provision to apply to employees already overseas, the selected individual would have to require a permanent change of station move and would have to be selected as a result of a recruitment effort that had been extended outside of the overseas command involved.
