Job Description The Patriot Major Item Repairman (MIR) personnel shall provide all Intermediate level maintenance of Patriot Ground Support Equipment during the SICO effort. This maintenance support shall include the testing, checkout, maintenance, and repair of all Patriot major end items to include the Radar Sets (RS), Engagement Control Station (ECS), Information Coordination Central (ICC), Communications Relay Group (CRG), Antenna Mast Group (AMG), Launch Station (LS) and the Battery Maintenance Center (BMC). This field experience related to the theory of operation and troubleshooting skills required to resolve complex Patriot missile system Major End Item (MEI) electronics and mechanical problems. The MIR will analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action. Advises and assists in effecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reduce cost of operation. Devises and implements preventive maintenance programs and keep performance and maintenance records on Patriot equipment. This position is located in Korea. Required Skills: Demonstrate experience in the sustainment and operations of the Patriot Missile System Radar equipment. Trained and knowledge in the operation, sustainment and troubleshooting procedures of the Patriot System. Must have a minimum of four (4) years of depot or intermediate level field maintenance experience in isolating and correcting malfunctions in the Patriot Missile System. Must have Patriot experience on ICC, ECS, RS, IFF, AMG, GMT, LRPT, LS, and CRG, using automatic and semi-automatic program maintenance diagnostics (Radar Action Cycler, System Exerciser and Switch 8/9), unit self-tests and Built-In Test Equipment (BITE). Must have industry standard commercial off the shelf external test equipment in support of Configuration III equipment. Other Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. A Secret Security Clearance is required. Desired Skills: Experienced electronic technician with military training in Patriot Configuration III Air Defense systems. Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of Remote Launch Communication Upgrade (RLCEU). Fiber Optic/ RF cable troubleshooting and repair. Understanding and knowledge of military communications systems and encryption devices. Should have successfully completed the Patriot System Intermediate Maintenance Mechanic Course for MOS 27X/34S/94S/916A/918D conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) or an equivalent course of instruction conducted by the Patriot Missile System Contractor. Required Education: Bachelors Degree with 4 years of related experience, or Associates Degree with 8 years experience or HS Diploma/GED with 12 years of related experience. IISFE 102619
