Main Purpose:

As the principal financial advisor for Korea Medtronic and as a member of the Korea Leadership Team:

·Enhance effectiveness of the organization through insightful analysis, influence on strategic direction and execution. Provide robust financial evaluation and enable decision making on initiatives and investments. Help Medtronic businesses maximize revenue, long term profits and cash-flows.

·Responsible for overall leadership of all aspects of financial control, planning and forecasting, and business partnership.

·Partner with senior management to develop and implement business strategies which will meet short and long term performance goals.

·Drive professional and effective sales management in terms of organisation, administration, inventory management and expense planning and control.

·Ensure that the organization’s agreed quality standards (including ISO13485) are maintained with regard to its products, procedures, policies, operations and customer contact.

Key Accountabilities:

·Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial information to provide business pro-active advice as a partner to business leadership.Participates actively in key management and business decisions, lead, direct senior managers to ensure that the organization’s financial strategies are implemented effectively.

·Contributes to the strategic planning process to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the business objectives.

·Directs all aspects of accounting operations, resource allocation and budget/forecast activities and ensures profits of the organisation are protected through the establishment of effective financial controls.

·Monitors and enhances effective use of working capital, with proper oversight on credit control and collection activities, inventory balances and obsolescence.

·Ensures major capital expenditure requests comply with budgets and approval systems

·Overseas the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting and statutory requirements.

·Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to the executive management team. Monitors SBU and Function adherence to approved budgets.

·Provides tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations.

·Drives change in cross-functional business systems and processes to improve productivity and cost efficiency.

·Complies with the organization’s Finance and Legal policies and procedures, responds to both Internal and External Audit enquiries in a timely manner, and ensures follow-up on action items to address audit recommendations.

·Acts as primary co-coordinator of the organization’s Business Practices review to ensure compliance with Corporate and Local Policy.

·Develops the Procurement organization to drive effective utilization of resources and implementation of cost savings programs..

·Responsible for the management of staff including selection, direction setting, feedback and coaching, performance management, rewards and recognition and development planning.

·Represents the organization in dealing with external providers such as legal counsel, auditors, and bankers.

·Ensures that the accounting records of the organization are properly maintained in accordance with both corporate and statutory requirements.

·Observe all health and safety policies and procedures and take all reasonable care that actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others.

·Works within and actively promotes Medtronic’s Mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.

Experience and Knowledge:

·10 years accounting experience 5 years successfully managing a team and function

·Experience in multinational organisation within health care/medical device industry

·Considerable practical experience in financial planning, reporting and control

·Strong business acumen and appreciation for detail and proven track record in process improvement

·Ability to build strong customer (internal and external) relationships throughout a customer organization, at all levels

·Sound knowledge of the requirements practice of Sarbanes Oxley Governance requirements and systems

·Sound knowledge of statutory requirements in Korea

·US GAAP knowledge

·Sound working knowledge of WHS (Workplace Health Safety) / Risk Management / Workers Compensation legislation and Principles. A thorough understanding of the codes and regulations, for example

oMedtronic’s Business Conduct Standards, Code of Conduct and Anti-Corruption Policy

oThe MTAA Code,

oThe TGA Advertising regulations.

·Sound working knowledge of EEO and anti-discrimination legislation and principles

·Computer literacy including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.

Qualifications (pre-requisite or preferred):

·Degree qualified in accounting and finance

·Formal Professional accounting qualifications: CPA/CA.

·Other postgraduate qualifications eg. MBA highly regarded

Other Comments:

·Some out of hours work will be required

·Some interstate travel will be required (occasionally)

·Some international travel will be required (occasionally)
